Meaford Hall Arts & Cultural Centre

RPYYOGA     Grades 5 - 8        $40 for 6 week program

Thursdays 5:30pm-6:15pm       45 minute class

Session 4: March 9 - April 13

Move, stretch, and relax in this beginner class for youth where yoga poses, breathing techniques, and meditation will be creatively explored!

Fitness for Youth

Meaford & St Vincent Community Centre

RPYFIT          Grades 5- 8  $30 for 6 week program

Tuesdays 6pm-7pm

Session 5: April 11 - May 16

Each week will have a different, fun way to stay active.  Fitness drumming, Amazing Race and so much more!

RPKHIP     Grades 5 - 8                 $60 for 5 classes

Tuesdays 5pm - 6pm

Session 6: May 23 - June 20

This fun, high-energy workshop will explore freestyle dancing that is strongly musically inspired by today's popular music videos.  Perfect for beginners and experienced dancers alike, you will learn a variety of dynamic dance moves and routines influenced by everything from funk to break-dancing.  You will have the opportunity to create your own choreography that expresses your personal style and attitude, all while you make new dance friends!

July 5 - August 30 (9 week program)

Learn how to catch, throw, run and hit.  A recreation program that teaches young children the fundamentals of baseball
in a fun atmosphere.  Volunteer led program. Light snack included every week.

Wednesdays 5:30pm-7:30pm

Join chef Rheanna Kish in the kitchen as you boost your culinary confidence, learn new tricks and techniques and 
discover (or re-discover) the love of cooking. Class includes recipes, hands-on cooking and tasting or taking home the dishes you create. Seasoned cooks, beginners and children (accompanied by an adult) are all welcome.

April 12         Chinese Cuisine- Learn traditional Chinese favourites and some fun, new techniques to get you excited about                             your kitchen again.

May 24          Mediterranean - Let's take a trip to Tuscany to discover what all the fuss is about.  A little hint- it's wildly delicious!

June 14       Local and Seasonal - Celebrate the changing of the season with this menu featuring the best of local produce                        (think asparagus, strawberries and rhubarb).  Learn tips, tricks and techniques that will have you craving local all summer long.

Saturdays 10am-11am

Kids are the stars in this fun, hands-on, informative class hosted by chef Rheanna Kish. Kids will learn a variety of culinary skills, from basic kitchen safety and knife skills to proper measuring and cooking. Recipes often focus on healthy options and definitely inspire fun and creativity in the kitchen. Kids get to taste/bring home what we make.

April 22          Bars & Squares- Want to know the secret to the best-ever brownies?  Check out this class where we'll bake up a handful of                            quick and easy bars and squares.

May 13          Ravioli- In this interactive, fun, hands-on class, we'll make homemade cheese ravioli.  And finish it in an unexpected, but totally                          delectable way.

June 10         Hand Pies & Turnovers- Using the first of local, seasonal fruit, we'll create delicious, flaky hand-held mini pies.  Plus, learn                         the best, basic how-to pastry tips for success every time!



Join us in the Community Kitchen at the Victoria Village Family Resource Centre on the 4th Wednesday of every month from 4:30pm to 6:30pm.

Delicious, nutritious and affordable meals will be made using ingredients that are found in the Good Food Box and participants are encouraged to stay and sit-down to enjoy the meal. All ages are welcome and the cost is pay-what-you-can. Participants can help decide what meals will be made. Please contact for more information and/or if you are interested

Georgian Bay Youth Roots coalition is committed to ensuring all local youth are healthy, engaged and contributing members of the Municipality of Meaford and the Town of The Blue Mountains.  We are committed to supporting families, building assets and mobilizing our community.



Youth Competitive Swim Camp

An opportunity for youth to see what competitive swimming is all about.  Offered for one week in August for youth (ages 11-15).  Quality coaching offered by Cheryl Blay, NCCP level 2 Swimming.   Limited spaces available.
