Council approves a number of appointments to various advisory committees and boards at the beginning of the term and when vacancies occur. The appointment of citizen/resident members are made in keeping with the Appointment Policy and reviewed by the Nominating Committee for approval by Council.
The appointment of Council members to various groups is governed by the Procedural By-law and occurs at the recommendation of the Mayor.
There are currently vacancies on the following advisory committees and local boards:
- Economic Development Advisory Committee (4 positions)
The Municipality is seeking three business sector members and one strategic partner member for the Economic Development Advisory Committee. Applicants should have relevant experience or expertise and have the desire to make a contribution to the Municipality of Meaford.

Please note that applicants must be a Canadian citizen, an eligible elector of the Municipality, over 18 years of age, and cannot be employees of the Municipality. This is a volunteer position without remuneration, and appointees must be willing to sign the Advisory Committee Code of Conduct.
