Council’s Strategic Priorities 2015-2018 Approved

 

Meaford, Ontario – October 27, 2015 – At the Council meeting on Monday, October 26, 2015 the Council of the Municipality of Meaford approved Council’s Strategic Priorities for the 2015-2018 term.

This document outlines Council’s long term goals and the actions needed to achieve those goals, including:

  • Vision: THE place to be on Southern Georgian Bay.
  • Mission: Provide leadership and effective governance in the delivery of quality, sustainable services.
  • Values:
    • Respect – Inclusive, Open and Empathetic
    • Integrity – Honest, Ethical and Accountable
    • Community – Common Good, Resilient and Authentic
  • Future Description: The Municipality of Meaford is a welcoming and authentic community; safe, accessible, active, vibrant, and green. It is a place we proudly call home where we celebrate our culture, heritage and natural beauty. We are a “community of communities” with sustainable and progressive development in the residential, agricultural, commercial and tourism sectors and a bustling downtown.

“A Strategic plan plays a critical role in shaping our community”, said Mayor Barb Clumpus. “It contains ideas that will help to create a more livable, welcoming, beautiful and prosperous community. I am so very proud of and thankful for the enthusiastic participation by the Councillors and staff in embracing this common purpose.”

    As of today, municipal services will no longer be offered on Thursdays at the Sydenham Centre due to low usage rates. Mayor Clumpus will continue to host her coffee time on the third Thursday of the month from 1:30 to 3:00pm.
