Notice of Public Information Centre - Grandview Drive/Susan Street

Grandview Drive / Susan Street Reconstruction / Development of an Alternate Trunk Watermain Project

The Municipality of Meaford wishes to invite you to a Public Information Centre (PIC) regarding the Grandview Drive / Susan Street Reconstruction and Development of an Alternate Trunk Watermain Project. The Grandview Drive component of this project spans from Ford Avenue to Sykes Street North. The Susan Street component of this project spans from Sykes Street North to Thompson Street.

The project team has completed the design component of this project and the project is out for tender.  The Municipality will make this design available to the public for review prior to the construction taking place Spring 2016. 

The PIC #2 will be held at the Meaford Fire Hall, located at 81 Stewart Street, on Wednesday March 9th, 2016 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm.

The proposed scope of this project includes the following:

  • Replacement of existing 100mm (4”) watermain with 300mm (12”) watermain and replacement of water shut-offs, valves and fire hydrants;
  • Replacement and/or adjustment of existing wastewater collection maintenance hatches (no additional sewer works are proposed for Grandview Drive at this time);
  • Utility relocations (Hydro, Bell Canada, Rogers, Union Gas), as required;
  • Installation of stormwater collection system including catch basins; and
  • Urbanization of the road, including the installation of curb/gutters and sidewalk.

If you are unable to attend the PIC #2 and would like an update, please forward your written submissions by Wednesday March 9th, 2016 to the project team members below.
