Burn Ban in Effect

Meaford, Ontario – August 4, 2016 – The Meaford and District Fire Department has issued a ban on open air fires within the Municipality of Meaford due to the hot, dry conditions in the area.

Hot, dry weather means the risk of fires is high, and caution must be taken. This ban is effective immediately, and will remain in place until further notice.

The ban applies to all open air fires in the municipality of Meaford, including all area campgrounds.

The Meaford and District Fire Department would like to thank you for your cooperation.

    As of today, municipal services will no longer be offered on Thursdays at the Sydenham Centre due to low usage rates. Mayor Clumpus will continue to host her coffee time on the third Thursday of the month from 1:30 to 3:00pm.
