Solar PIC

The Municipality of Meaford wishes to invite you to a Public Information Centre (PIC) regarding an update to various Solar Initiatives that have been underway since mid-2015. Projects discussed will include Feed-In-Tariff (FIT), Micro-FIT and Net-Metering projects at locations throughout the Municipality.

The project team has completed preliminary applications on various sites and is now soliciting feedback from the public to determine the willingness to proceed. Any comments received will be considered in a final report to Council later in September.

The PIC will be held at Meaford Hall in the galleries, located at 46 Nelson Street, on Wednesday September 7th, 2016 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 7:00pm to 9:00pm.
Project applications include the following:

  • FIT application – Centre Street Landfill (Closed). 500kW ground mounted Solar Photo Voltiac installation;
  • FIT application – Patrol A Transportation Services operations yard, 7th Line. 100kW roof top Solar Photo Voltiac installation;
  • MicroFIT applications for 10kW Rooftop projects at the Meaford Fire Hall, Stewart Street Operations Yard, Compost Transfer Station, 390 Sykes Street, Meaford Museum, Harbour Pavilion/Washroom, Harbour House, Riverside Community Centre, Bognor Community Centre and Woodford Hall;
  • Net Metering analysis of 50+ municipally owned properties.

    I really think there should be a garbage can at the skateboard park. It is really terrible to see all the litter in the parking lot. I truly think everyone would put their garbage in a can if there was one easily accessible. Just my opinion ! 😉
