The Heartbroken is a Canadian Indie band which consists of Damhnait Doyle, Blake Manning, Stuart Cameron and Peter Fusco. They made their debut in March 2009 at the East Coast Music Awards, which was held in Doyle's home province of Newfoundland. Some things take no thought, they just take heart. “Tonight Tonight”, the debut album from Toronto’s The Heartbroken might as well be a bandage for bleeding hearts and souls around the world. It is a visceral reaction to the blows of life and love, a moment to enjoy being on the ground, because you know you are going to be that much stronger when you get back up. At Toronto’s legendary Dakota Tavern “they stood up, plugged in and played so hard, they almost fell over!”
Ladies of the Canyon is a Canadian country music group from Montreal , Quebec composed of Senja Sargeant, Maia Davies, Jasmine Bleile and Anna Ruddick. Their first single, "Follow Me Down," debuted in the top 50 of the BDS Canadian Country Singles Chart in May 2010. The song is included on their debut album, Haunted Woman, released by Kindling/Warner Music Canada on June 1, 2010.
Four of the strongest musical voices in Montreal, Ladies of The Canyon's sound is polymorphic, true and passionate. Their music is a soundscape mosaic: candy sweet folk pop one minute and heart-wrenching soulful complaint the next. Their music always follows the spirit of the moment…ethereal folkie fingerstyle guitar licks might escape suddenly to pounding rock drums and bass, heavy grooves or lush vocal harmonies that soar over a simple piano melody. The undercurrent maintained throughout, however, is more than a little bit country. www.theheartbroken.com www.ladiesofthecanyon.com
