Green Hand Program
Green means GO and with these helping hands located throughout the building, everyone, child and adult alike, will be drawn to activities designed to enhance their visit at the Museum. Try your hand at lawn bowling, attempt a quilt stitch or try getting accepted into Meaford High School. All of these experiences are waiting for you at the Meaford Museum.
Audio Guides
We are currently working to develop audio tours/guides for the Meaford Museum. These tours will be available by donation to any persons interested in using them. They will be available in English, German, and French. For details keep watch on the website or call us at 519-538-5974.
Accessibility
The Meaford Museum is completely accessible. Staff work constantly to make the Museum a welcoming environment for everyone. Please feel free to request any accomodations you require to make your experience at the Museum a fulfilling one.Donating
The Museum accepts material that has a history in the Municipality of Meaford. Preference is given to those items which have a long history in the area. For a more detailed understand of our acceptance policy please read our Collection Development Policy (133.33 kB).If you have something you believe we would be intersted in please contact the Museum and speak to the Curator.
Please note, all donations require a written/typed history be submitted at the time of donation to provide a context for the artifact.
Parking
Although the museum does not have a designated parking lot, there's plenty available near the building. Visitors are welcome to park along the water, down by the splash pad, up the right side of Collingwood street and in designated parkings spots. Please DO NOT PARK in the lane way located at the south end of the building or directly in front of the building as this area is a 3-way corner.
Tours
General tours are available, please call to arrange a booking.
Tours can be provided on a requested topic with sufficient notice provided.
Schools tours are welcome. Teachers, please call to make arrangements.
