Mural Relocation and Preservation Work at Meaford Harbour

The Municipality of Meaford is advising the community that the Canada Connects Family – National Mural Mosaic installation at the end of Nelson Street along the Harbour will be temporarily removed on Thursday, November 20, as the first step in preserving and relocating the mural within the Harbour area.

The mural panels will be securely stored over the winter months. During this time, staff will apply a protective clear coat to help extend the life of the artwork and preserve the painted panels. This work has been made possible through a generous donation from a member of our community.

In the spring, the mural is planned to be reinstalled beside the boathouse structure at the Harbour. As part of this installation, the existing billboard sign at the Harbour will also be removed.

The Municipality appreciates the community’s patience as this preservation and relocation work is carried out and looks forward to the mural’s relocation to its new home at the Harbour in the spring.
