Patio Applications Now Open for 2026 Season

The Municipality of Meaford is now accepting applications for its 2026 Temporary Patio Extension Program. The program supports local businesses by creating vibrant outdoor spaces that enhance the downtown experience for residents and visitors while maintaining safety and accessibility.

Eligible businesses, including restaurants, cafés, and retailers interested in installing patios, must apply by March 31, 2026.

The Municipality is already making arrangements for barrier rental for all participating businesses for the 2026 patio season.A coordinatedapproach ensuresthat all patios are safe, accessible, and make our downtown look inviting. Detailed information on barrier rental costs, installation, and timelines will be determined with participating businesses through the application process. Participating businesses will be responsible for covering all costs of the program, including barrier rental and installation.

Key Dates for the 2026 Patio Program

  • Applications Open: March 23, 2026
  • Application Deadline:March 31, 2026 (if you require more time, please contact us)
  • Patio Agreement and Payment Due: April 24, 2026
  • Barrier Installation Begins: June 1, 2026
  • Barrier Removal: Date to be determined
  • Patio Removal Deadline: October 15, 2026

Businesses approved for the program are responsible for meeting all program requirements, timelines, and safety standards. Full details, including application forms, mandatory barrier rental information, and support contacts, are available at www.meaford.ca/patios.
