Municipality Launches New Website to Improve Access to Services and Community Information

The Municipality of Meaford has launched a new municipal website designed to make services, programs, events, applications, permits, licences, by-laws, and community information easier to find and use.

The refreshed online experience is available at meaford.ca and continues to connect users to related sites including the Meaford Public Library, Meaford Museum, and Meaford Hall

The new website focuses on improved navigation, accessibility, mobile-first design, and enhanced search functionality, supporting the Municipality’s goal of making information easier to access for the whole community. Key features include a new community calendar, a business and municipal facility directory, an accessibility widget, quick links, and improved search tools that help users more easily find applications, permits, licences, by-laws, services, and community information.

“Council is pleased to see this improvement in how the Municipality shares information and connects with the community,” said Mayor Ross Kentner. “A modern, accessible, and mobile-friendly website helps residents and businesses find what they need more easily and supports a more informed and connected Meaford.”

“A modern municipal website needs to be accessible and mobile-friendly for our community,” said Holly Moroney, Manager of Communications and Customer Service. “More than half of our users are visiting our website from their phones, and we wanted to acknowledge that by designing an online experience that meets the needs of our community. We want municipal services, information, and programs to be easy to access. With this website, residents can click, submit, and apply for services that were much more manual in the past.”

“We have also improved navigation and search tools so users can more easily find applications, permits, licences, by-laws, events, programs, and community information. We are excited to provide a modern, accessible, mobile-first website that better supports how residents, businesses, and visitors interact with the Municipality.”

Residents, businesses, and community organizations are encouraged to explore the new website, use the community calendar to find and share local events, and take advantage of the new business and municipal facility directory.
