The Municipality of Meaford is building a new public parking lot at 28 Nelson Street West, across from the LCBO.
Construction is expected to start on August 10, 2026, and finish by October 2, 2026. Work is expected to take place from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Overview
The following service may be affected: parking at 28 Nelson Street West.
Start date: August 10, 2026.
Approximate end date: October 2, 2026.
Reason for disruption: Construction of a new public parking lot at 28 Nelson Street West. Work will include paving, new lighting, stormwater upgrades, and ducting for future EV chargers.
Alternative services: Residents and users of the parking lot will need to use other parking during construction. Nelson Street West is expected to stay open, but there may be delays and less on-street parking in front of the lot. To view other parking locations, visit meaford.ca/parking.
Impacts: Residents and property owners should expect some noise and dust during construction. Crews will work to reduce dust as much as possible. Heavy equipment may cause some vibration. Residents should protect items that could be damaged by vibration.
Please do not park in the gravel lot or on the road directly in front of the construction area. Please follow posted signs and drive with care in the area.
EV chargers will not be installed during this part of the project, but they are being planned for the site.
