Fire Risk Lowered to Moderate in Meaford

The fire risk level in the Municipality of Meaford has been lowered to Moderate (Level 2) as of today.

Recent rainfall and improved conditions have reduced the overall fire danger. While the risk of fire spread is less severe than at higher levels, residents are still asked to remain cautious when conducting any open-air burning.

Notice: Fire Risk Increased to Moderate

Effective today, the fire risk level in our area has increased from low to moderate.

Due to the recent dry weather and no rain in the forecast, conditions are more favorable for fires to start and spread. The Municipality of Meaford and the Meaford Fire Department are reminding residents to be extra cautious when conducting any open-air burning.

The Municipality of Meaford would like to inform residents of a water main repair on Boucher Street East. Municipal crews are currently on-site conducting emergency repairs. Area residents may experience temporary disruptions to water pressure.

The Municipality of Meaford would like to inform residents and visitors of temporary parking restrictions along the east side of Sykes Street North for the setup and duration of the Meaford Harbour 5KM Walk Run event beginning on Friday, July 11. Parking spaces along the east side of the street will be blocked off to ensure participant safety. The road will remain open to traffic.
