Staff from the Environmental Services team have begun flushing fire hydrants as part of their annual maintenance program within urban Meaford. Flushing will take place throughout the month of October from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday to Friday.

During this time you may notice a slight discoloration or cloudy appearance of the water, and reduced pressure if you are using water during the flushing process. The water may be flushed onto the road surface and may leave puddles after flushing...

Claim for damages against the Municipality

The Municipality of Meaford wishes to inform the public of an ongoing claim for damages against the Municipality by Tarion (formerly Ontario New Home Warranty) related to fourteen properties on Gordon Crescent in Meaford.

The claim names the Municipality as one of sixteen defendants, and the total claim is for $8,000,000. The Municipality’s insurance company is vigorously defending the claim, and the Municipality accepts no liability for the accusations included in the claim. The Municipality may...
