The Municipality of Meaford would like to inform residents and visitors of a temporary road closure on Sykes Street North due to the Santa Claus Parade from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2025.

This Holiday Season, Meaford is celebrating its starring role in the beloved 1985 Disney film One Magic Christmas with a community-wide holiday campaign, A Magic Christmas in Meaford.

As winter approaches, the Municipality of Meaford’s Transportation and Operations Department is once again focused on Keeping Meaford Moving, safely and efficiently, through the snow and ice season.

Mural Relocation and Preservation Work at Meaford Harbour

The Municipality of Meaford is advising the community that the Canada Connects Family – National Mural Mosaic installation at the end of Nelson Street along the Harbour will be temporarily removed on Thursday, November 20, as the first step in preserving and relocating the mural within the Harbour area.

The Municipality of Meaford will host a Community Information Session on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Meaford Hall in the Terrace Room(12 Nelson Street East, Meaford) to share details on upcoming construction work for two bridges:

The Municipality, with Pearson Engineering Ltd., has completed condition assessments and background studies confirming that both structures require rehabilitation in 2026 to maintain safety and serviceability.
