The Municipality of Meaford will be hosting its first Community Safety Fair at the Meaford and St. Vincent Community Centre on Saturday, September 16, 2023, between 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. This event will be family friendly, drop-in and free to attend for all ages.
As an action in the Meaford Well-being Plan, we are hosting this event in order to strengthen the relationship between members of the public and local enforcement, and enhance public awareness in the realm of safety and well-being!

Please be advised that shoreline rehabilitation work on Bayfield Street will begin in the coming days. The shoreline along Bayfield Street, which spans 407 meters from Fred Raper Park to the Meaford Museum, has experienced significant erosion due to high water levels in the Great Lakes. This shoreline serves as a protective barrier for vital infrastructure, including roads, sidewalks, storm sewers, water and wastewater lines.

Please be advised that the road reconstruction project on St. Vincent Street/Grey Road 7 will continue throughout September. Access to Grey Road 7 from Muir Street will continue to be closed, however with the back-to-school season approaching, residents can still reach Georgian Bay Community School by accessing St. Vincent Street/Grey Road 7 from Sykes Street South/Highway 26.

Rehabilitation work on Bridge 037, located on Sykes Street North over Pete's Creek (between Susan Street and Cook Street), will begin in the coming days.
The rehabilitation of the bridge will include:
- Concrete repairs to the structure to ensure continued operation in future years;
- Replacement of the barrier system on the structure to improve safety for vehicles and cyclists; and
- Replacement of failed retaining structures.
