Sykes Street North Reconstruction - Full Road Closure

Posted On Friday July 30, 2021

Please be advised that Sykes Street North is closed to traffic in both directions from Lombard Street to Collingwood Street. The full closure will remain in effect until further notice as construction work continues.

Since start of construction, there have been temporary road closures during the week for the safe completion of construction activities. As work continues the project consultant and contractor have determined that a full road closure is required at this time to maintain safety in the construction zone as the current road condition will not support the level of traffic flow that has currently been experienced.

The closure for all lanes of traffic is a planned part of the reconstruction project. Closures will be temporary to enable movement of traffic through and around the construction zone during the length of the project.

Detour routes are in place for vehicular traffic. Pedestrian access will continue to be provided through the construction zone. Please use caution when walking through the construction area or detouring around the project site.

Businesses are open and can be accessed. There continues to be access to business and residential properties in the construction zone. Stay updated on reconstruction progress by visiting our website Sykes Street North Reconstruction.
