Canada Day celebrations in Meaford this year will once again benefit from a grant from the Ministry of Canadian Heritage and Multiculturalism.

The Municipality of Meaford has been awarded $4,688 from the Celebration and Commemoration Program, Celebrate Canada component. This funding will be used to enhance the 2019 Canada Day festivities, which will be held July 1st this year at the Meaford Harbour pavilion.

“We are working with a great group of partners and volunteers for a fun-filled day of activities, with something for the whole family” said Recreation Services Coordinator Emma Smith. “There will be inflatables and face painting, a travelling zoo, a car show, live music, food, fireworks, Coast Guard visits and much more.”

Also on July 1st, The Municipality of Meaford is partnering with Beautiful Joe Heritage Society for their annual Old Fashioned Family Fun Day at Beautiful Joe Park, with performances from Ultimutts, a professional stunt dog show.

A full schedule of the day’s activities will be available as the date approaches. Visit www.meaford.ca/CanadaDay to stay up to date on the many ways to celebrate.
