Get Involved - Service Delivery Review

The Council and staff team of the Municipality of Meaford will, very shortly, begin the Service Delivery Review. I would like to take this opportunity to clarify the process that we will be undertaking, and perhaps dispel some rumours and misinformation that have been circulating.

Our Values: Respect, Integrity, Community

Council recently formally adopted our strategic priorities which were developed collaboratively by Council and staff. The foundation on which we built these strategies is the values by which this Council would govern, and by which our administration would perform. Those values are:  RESPECT, INTEGRITY AND COMMUNITY.

Mayor's 2015 Year in Review

2016 Budget Clarifications

As Mayor, I am very proud of our comprehensive process of incorporating public input into the business of the Municipality. The opinions, input and concerns of residents and the community are essential to the budget process. However, it is also very important that any information provided to or by the residents, as well as that from the media, is factual.

Introduction to the Strategic Priorities

Through the election process, and consistently since then, Council has heard from residents about their wishes, needs, and concerns. It is Council’s responsibility to balance those with the realities of the human, and financial resources and the physical state of the assets we have. Underlining this balancing act is a single motivation: what is best for the whole municipality, the “common good”.

Grandview Drive Grant Announcement Address

Today is a great day for the Municipality of Meaford. We all remember the serious situation two summers ago when a large break occurred in a major watermain. So the news today of this $1.8 million grant from the Federal and Provincial governments, to help improve our water/wastewater and road infrastructure is most welcome, and might I say comes not a moment too soon.

Mayor's 2015 6 Month Review

Coming out of the October 2014 Municipal election campaign, there were many expectations of your new Council. I’d like to take this opportunity to let you know how we have responded to those expectations.

One priority was to communicate more effectively and more frequently, and to make it easier for you to find out about things going on in our community. A second priority was to take a good hard look at how we are delivering the services and the staff required to do so, and thirdly we looked to reduce expenses to achieve financial sustainability.
