Grey Road 7 Reconstruction

The Municipality of Meaford together with Grey County will be reconstructing a portion of Grey Road 7 from the intersection at Highway 26 / Sykes Street South to Muir Street.

 Project Description

The Grey Road 7 Road Reconstruction and Infrastructure Replacement project will include the replacement of municipal watermain, County storm sewer, and the reconstruction of the road surface and base for approximately 900 metres from 500 St. Vincent Street to 200 metres South of Muir Street.

The Grey County portion of work includes construction of a new turning lane into Georgian Bay Community School, resurfacing of the roadway, and replacement of storm water infrastructure. 

The Municipality intend to replace watermain and water services along the roadway as the existing infrastructure is approximately 78 years old and has experience multiple failures in the recent years.

Engineering began in 2022

Estimated Construction Start Date: Summer 2023

Estimated Construction End Date: Fall 2023

Budget

The total 2023 budget for this reconstruction project is $2,121,940. The proposed funding for the project is as follows:

2023 User Pay Levy: $1,126,940

Grant Funding: $995,000
