June 13, 2024 - The Municipality of Meaford's Pumped Storage Advisory Committee held its second meeting. This event marked a significant milestone in the organizational steps and essential discussions regarding the committee’s role and future.
Meaford’s Inaugural Pumped Storage Advisory Committee Holds Productive First Meeting
May 14, 2024 - The inaugural meeting of the Pumped Storage Advisory Committee (PSAC) took place on Thursday, May 9 with sessions on meeting procedures and best practices and media training. Deputy Mayor Shirley Keaveney chaired the meeting with Mayor Ross Kentner in attendance for the opening and expressed gratitude to committee members for their pivotal role in addressing significant decisions facing the council.

April 30, 2024 - The committee members represent a diverse cross-section of expertise and experiences and will work to facilitate collaborative learning and information exchange regarding TC Energy’s proposed Pumped Storage Project.
Meaford Council adopts the Terms of Reference to create a Pumped Storage Advisory Committee
March 11, 2024 - The Terms of Reference will provide a platform for collaborative learning and informed decision-making for TC Energy’s proposed Pumped Storage Project. Committee members will explore community interests and concerns and provide advice to Council.
Pumped Storage Project Internal Working group and Ainley to perform enhanced project management services
November 13, 2023 - Council authorizes the execution of an agreement with Ainley Group to perform an enhanced project management role for the TCE Pumped Storage project and to establish an internal working group consisting of the Mayor, Deputy Mayor, (Interim) CAO, Director of Engineering and Director of Development Services, plus a County of Grey representative and any other staff deemed necessary by the CAO, to lead the Municipality’s work on this project.
Meaford Council appoints the Ainley group and Strategy Corp to provide professional expertise to ensure TC Energy considers the community’s best interests
July 11th, 2023 - StrategyCorp, a government relations and management consulting firm, will be focused on negotiating a community benefit agreement that will outline commitments of TC Energy and the Municipality. The Ainley Group, an Ontario-based engineering and planning consulting firm, will conduct independent peer reviews of TC Energy’s studies and other work.
Meaford Council passes a resolution of conditional support for the proposed TC Energy Pumped Storage Project
February 27, 2023 - Council of the Municipality of Meaford passed a motion expressing conditional support for the construction and operation of the proposed TransCanada Energy Ltd. Pumped Storage facility. The motion provided four conditions that must be met for the Municipality to fully support the project.
TC Energy Reaches Agreement with National Defence
July 28, 2021 - Agreement to develop a 1,000 MW Pumped Storage facility on a portion of land within the 4th Canadian Division Training Centre in Meaford.
TC Energy Project shares a proposal update with Meaford Council
November 4, 2019 - Update to council on information that the Municipality had received from the Department of National Defence / TC Energy, the initial discussions with them, the scope of the approval process including public consultation opportunities and a summary of the concerns received to date by the Municipality.
