The Shields Bridge rehabilitation project is now complete and the bridge has been reopened.

In April 2019, Council is expected to award a rehabilitation contract for Shields Bridge located on 1st Concession between Sideroad 6 and Gerald Shortt Parkway. The budget for this project was $623,600 and was funded using an OCIF Provincial grant of $493,800 and $129,800 from the 2019 tax levy.

Work included rehabilitation to the sub structure, super structure and drainage systems to ensure the bridge will function properly for the next 30-50 years. New asphalt paving was also be completed to finish the project and properly seal the concrete deck.
