Council and staff have developed 16 Council Priority Projects for the 2023-2026 term. Take a look below to learn more!

You're Invited to Attend the Council Priorities Open House!

Residents are invited to join the Mayor, Council members, and staff, for a conversation about the recently adopted Council Priorities and Council’s activities during its first year in office.

Come and connect with members of Council on November 29, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Meaford Hall in the Galleries, and find out more about the priorities that Council has set for the remainder of this term. Members of Council and staff will be able to discuss each project and talk about the other important work Council has done during their first year. This will be an excellent opportunity to engage directly with your local leaders, ask questions, and share your thoughts. Please mark your calendar and be part of this important discussion.

Refreshments will be provided, including a cash bar and options for coffee and tea.

Frequently Asked Questions
How were the Council Priorities developed?
The Council Priorities were developed internally by Council and staff working collaboratively. Council held three special meetings, narrowing the number of priorities down from an initial 75 to the final 16. Municipal staff developed Project Charters for each of the Priorities to define exactly what would be done for each project. Council then had the opportunity to edit those charters at another special meeting, before finally adopting the full package in November 2023.
How can I find out more about the projects?

Each of the Council Priorities projects are linked below. You can find summary information about the project, updates where available, and the full project charter on each project page.

How can I provide input into the projects?

Each of the project pages includes a section on planned public input opportunities, and you can provide input to Council by e-mailing council@meaford.ca

You can also sign up for the Municipality’s monthly e-newsletter by going to www.meaford.ca/enews. The newsletter will include details of all upcoming consultation events related to the Council Priorities.

Where can I find updates on project progress?
We will provide regular updates on each project through this website. Council will also receive a report twice a year (January and July) with an update on all of the projects.
