Pool Closure Notice - July 19, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
The Blue Dolphin Pool will be closed on Friday, July 19 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. for scheduled maintenance. Public Swim and Lane Swim will run from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. and the regular schedule will resume from 4:00 p.m. onwards. Thank you for your understanding.

Registration For Blue Dolphin Pool lessons will begin April 30 at 12:00 PM, in person at the YMCA location or online in ActiveNet.

You will need to 'create an account': Active Net Registration

Make sure to create your own account first. Once yours is created you can create accounts for other members of your household. These will need to be done prior to registration day, as there is a delay for approval.

Wish List and Waitlists!

Select your classes or activities before registration starts and create a Wish List. Keep in mind this does not guarantee a spot. When registration opens, log into your account and complete your transaction. It's a good idea to have some backup classes, in case your preferred class is full.

Is the program you're looking for full? Go on the waitlist!

To add yourself or someone in your household to the waitlist, click on the name of the program. Then select the '+Waiting List'. Should a space open, we will reach out. Also, going on the waitlist helps us look at what future programming we could add.

Who is operating the Blue Dolphin Pool for the 2024 swimming season?

The Municipality of Meaford is thrilled to partner with the YMCA of Owen Sound Grey Bruce to continue to operate the Blue Dolphin Pool for the 2024 season!

My child was taking swim lessons with the Municipality. How will that change with the YMCA?

Swimming lessons will continue in 2024, but will be called different names, to match the courses offered at the YMCA. Please refer to the YMCA Swim Program Conversion Chart to see what the equivalent lesson level for your child is in the YMCA’s system.

How do I purchase a season pass to Blue Dolphin Pool?

Seasons passes will be sold online via the YMCA of Owen Sound Grey Bruce’s webpage. Further instructions will follow.

Do I need to be a YMCA member to access the Blue Dolphin Pool?

No. You do not need to be a YMCA member to access the Blue Dolphin Pool.

Does my YMCA membership include access to the Blue Dolphin Pool?

No. Your YMCA membership does not include access to, or swim lessons at the Blue Dolphin Pool. You will be required to purchase a separate pass.

Is the YMCA hiring Lifeguards?

Yes! The YMCA is hiring! Individuals that become certified lifeguards are eligible to work for the YMCA! We are actively hiring seasonal Aquatics staff as well as those that are interested in working with us on part-time or full-time basis after the summer season ends.

We have a robust swim lesson and Aquatics program during fall, winter and spring seasons in our Health, Fitness & Aquatics centre located at the Julie McArthur Regional Recreation Centre in Owen Sound, ON.

If you are already a certified lifeguard, please complete the YMCA Employment/Volunteer Application Form and submit along with your resume and cover letter to: aquatics@osgb.ymca.ca

Is Financial Support available?

Yes! Both swim lessons and public swim season passes are eligible for funding under the Municipality’s Recreation Subsidy program, as well as the Grey County Social Initiatives Funding. More information on how to apply for these subsidies will be available when registration for swim lessons begins.

Cool off this summer at the Blue Dolphin Pool! This heated outdoor pool is open through June, July and August. Professional lifeguards are onsite, and we offer lessons, lane swim, open swim, and private rentals.
