Memorial Park is a picturesque park and campground boasting 468 metres of beautiful shoreline on Georgian Bay. It features many amenities including full service campground facilities, public washrooms, two pavilion shelters, playground areas, a mini-golf course and woodland walking trails.

Memorial Park is opening for the 2024 season! Please be advised that from May 1 to October 31, paid parking is in effect for visitors at Memorial Park. Camp Information and Guidelines

Camping Criteria and Public Washroom Facilities

Washroom facilities will be available at the office, top upper campground, lower waterfront campsite area and beach facilities.

Closed washrooms are located in the upper campsites – near playground, and by entrance. 

Arrivals and Reservations

Campers MUST check in at the front office before entering the park. A service window at the main office has been identified to perform one-on-one consultation between campers and park staff. There is no public access to the park office at this time. When possible, we ask that all reservations be made online through the Camplife Booking Software.

Playgrounds and Horseshoe Pits

All playgrounds and horseshoe pits are open. Horseshoe pits will be available.  Please bring your equipment with you as there is no equipment available on site.

Picnic Tables

Picnic tables will be provided to each of the campsites. It is the responsibility of the camper to disinfect the tables before use.

Ice and Wood Sales

Ice and wood sales will still be provided at Memorial Park. These sales can be requested during your arrival to the park or by calling/texting the park office. Park staff will deliver your request directly to your site, respecting social distancing measures at their earliest convenience.

Canteen Sales

There will be canteen items available at Memorial Park office for the 2024 season. Further updates to come!

Mini-Golf

The mini-golf course will be open for the 2024 season. The cost for mini golf is $4 and is available for the general public and campers. 

Public Beach Access

Due to the high water levels in Georgian Bay, there is very minimal beach space available. Visitors and customers are welcome to enjoy the views of Georgian Bay, but will find limited beach space and access to the water.

Reservation Policy

In an effort to ensure our valued campers and guests are treated to an exceptional, enjoyable and relaxing outdoor camping experience, the following protocols will be enforced by staff.

Prime Time: Shall include the camping season from last full weekend of June to Tuesday following Labour Day weekend in September, Victoria Day Weekend and Thanksgiving Weekend.

Reserving Waterfront Sites: Sites 1 – 18

The reservation request program opens January 1st at 9:00 a.m. for that calendar year. Any request earlier than January 1st will not be considered.

Pre-reservation of waterfront sites (sites 1 through 18), for the prime time camping season (last full weekend of June to Tuesday following Labour Day weekend in September), will be assigned for a one (1) week minimum period and a two (2) week maximum period with Friday being arrival and departure day. Check in time after 2:00 pm and departure not later than 12:00 noon.

During the months of June and September (non-prime time), waterfront sites will have a four (4) night minimum reservation requirement.

During the prime time camping season, any un-reserved waterfront sites (sites 1 through 18) will be made available to reserve for shorter camping stays [i.e. less than one (1) week]. A minimum two (2) night reservation will apply. Staff will consult the Campground Waiting List first to assign un-reserved sites. Reservations for shorter camping stays (less than 1 week) will be considered and allocated on Saturday at 12:00 pm (following regular Friday check in) for the subsequent week. These sites can NOT be reserved past the following Friday. Preference will be given to longer camping stays.

Short Stay pricing for waterfront campsites during prime-time, please enquire at the park office.

These Prices DO NOT apply to Victoria Day, Labour day, and Thanksgiving Weekend Bookings.

This pricing applies only to short, unreserved stays at Waterfront sites. 

Reserving Sites (Off-Water Sites in Lower Campground & Upper Campground Sites (19 – 143)  

Reservation of these sites can be made at any time for the following calendar camping season. Any sites deemed “PREMIUM SITES”, as well as lower off-water sites, will have a four (4) night minimum reservation requirement during prime season (last full weekend of June to Tuesday following Labour Day weekend in September). There is no mininum stay requirements during shoulder season. [No Maximum]  

Pre-reservations will be subject to the current year’s rates (rate at time of booking with full payment). Preference will be given to longer camping stays in the park.

The municipality reserves the right to reassign camp sites with a minimum of one (1) weeks’ notice in advance of reservation period at their discretion for the betterment and operational requirements of Memorial Park.

KIN CAMP EVENT:  During the Civic Holiday weekend in August, Sites 40 - 143 [upper campground area] will not be available for public use.

LONG WEEKENDS: All sites require a 3 night minimum reservation. Long weekends will be booked at regular prime rates.

HOW DO I MAKE A RESERVATION: Reservations will be accepted by e-mail (memorialpark@meaford.ca), voice mail (519-538-2530) or general mail (21 Trowbridge Street West, Meaford, ON N4L 1A1) clearly marked Memorial Park Reservation Request.  Due to the high volume of pre-season reservation requests (February, March and April), we ask that you allow staff up to two (2) weeks to confirm reservations.

RESERVATION PAYMENT SCHEDULE: Pre-season reservation requests will be confirmed by staff. Payment in full by credit card will be expected upon confirmation of reservation. Non-payment will result in reservation cancellation. During the camping season, payment in full is expected at time of reservation.

GROUP RESERVATIONS: Group reservation requests for individual sites made by one individual representing the group will be held for fourteen (14) consecutive days. It is the responsibility of each group member to contact the campground office within this period to confirm individual site reservation and provide payment in full for respective site. 

For Group Camping:  There are only two (2) designated areas within the campground where trailers may be parked in a circle (circling of the wagons).

ABSOLUTELY no "circling of the wagons" is permitted in any other locations within the campground. Trailers are expected to be parked on designated lanes / parking strips on all sites (where said lanes/parking strips are clearly marked).

GARBAGE and RECYCLING: Garbage/recycling of any kind left on site will result in a $25.00 clean up fee to camper. It is camper’s responsibility to deposit garbage and recycling into the appropriate bins provided. Wildlife are often attracted to a campsite that is not well kept and tidy, in search of scraps. We are happy to supply garbage bags if need be.

FIREWOOD: Please refrain from bringing outside firewood into memorial park. 

Cancellation Policy

Any campers that would like to cancel their reservation please refer to the cancellation policies below. Please know that we will do our very best to accommodate you and your family during this unprecedented time. The health & safety of our staff and campers is our top priority, and we appreciate your patience and cooperation. 14 days or greater - 100% refund minus $25.00 administration fee.

Less than 14 days - no refund. 

Early Departures - In the event of campers departing their reservation early, there will be no refunds or equal credit offered towards next stay.

All cancellations must be administered via email with a confirmation response from staff.  During the season from May 7th forward, cancellations can also be made in person or verbally over the phone at park office between 9am and 5pm daily.  NOTE: Voice mail cancellations will not be accepted.

Late Arrival - Failure to notify of late arrival that exceeds 24hrs will result in loss of reservation with no equivalent value offered. The park will not be responsible for contacting you.

Paid Parking

Paid parking for non-residents is in effect at Memorial Park from May 1 to October 31, between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., 7 days a week.

Visitor Parking Passes

Fees: $10 day pass, $100 + user fees for a season pass.

Contactless payment for day and season passes can be made onsite at Memorial Park using Visa, Mastercard, or Visa debit by downloading the HONK Mobile App to your mobile device.

How do I pay without a mobile device or data plan?

If you don’t have a mobile device, you can purchase a pass at the Memorial Park Office during business hours (8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. 7 days a week). You can also purchase a pass by using a public computer at the Meaford Public Library, open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Saturday.

If you have a device but do not have a data plan, you can download the Honk App or pay through the Honk website from any public Wi-Fi hot spot, such as those available at popular public places like libraries, coffee shops, restaurants, and hotels.

Can I purchase a seasonal or daily parking pass in person with cash?
You can pay with cash for your passes by visiting the Memorial Park Office during business hours (8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. 7 days a week).
If I am camping at Memorial Park, do I also need  to purchase a parking pass?
Anyone camping at Memorial Park will be provided 1 space for parking per site at no cost. Additional vehicles will be required to pay at the registration office where you will be provided a tag.

Resident Passes

Meaford residents and property owners will not have to pay for parking at Memorial Park. Residents are required to register their license plate at the Memorial Park Office to obtain parking privileges.

Beginning May 1, 2024, you will need to visit the Memorial Park Office and provide proof of residency to register a license plate with staff. Proof of residency can be ­­­your drivers license, tax bill or water bill.  

Once you have registered your license plate, you will not receive a physical sticker or pass. You will simply be added to our list of residents approved to park at Memorial Park for free!

Why is the Municipality of Meaford switching to HONK for Resident Parking Passes?
Honk Mobile App is the current vendor for daily and seasonal visitor parking passes at Memorial Park. By switching resident parking passes to the same system, the Municipality of Meaford will have better metrics to anticipate future parking needs. 

What is accepted as “Proof of Residency”?

Acceptable forms of Proof of Residency include:

  • A valid drivers license with your Meaford Address
  • A tax bill with your Meaford Address
  • A water bill with your Meaford Address

Will I get a physical parking pass?

No, you will not receive a physical sticker or pass. Once you have registered, your license plate will simply be added to the HONK database of residents approved to park at Memorial Park for free. 

How will By-Law know I have a parking pass?

During routine inspections at Memorial Park, by-law officers will type your license plate number into the system to confirm your registered parking pass. 

Can I register more than one license plate?

 Yes. There is no limit to the number of license plates registered per residence, as long as valid proof of residency is provided. 
Who is eligible for a free resident parking pass?

Meaford residents and property owners are eligible for a free parking pass for Memorial Park including tenants and seasonal residents. Young adults from age 16-18 that reside in Meaford also qualify for a resident pass.

Can I get a parking pass if I am a renter?
Yes. When you visit the Memorial Park Office to register your license plate, please bring a water bill or valid drivers license with your Meaford address. 

Can I get a parking pass if I am a seasonal resident?

Yes. When you visit the Memorial Park Office to register your license plate, please bring proof of Residency such as a tax or water bill. 
How will the Municipality ensure that people will not avoid paying for parking by parking elsewhere and blocking resident driveways?
