When and where will I need to have a resident parking pass displayed?

Parking passes are required at Memorial Park only from June 14 to October 31 of 2021, between the hours of 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., 7 days a week.

Residents will be issued parking passes in the form of a window sticker indicating the vehicle's licence plate. The sticker must be displayed in the lower right (passenger side) corner of your windshield.

Who is eligible for a free resident parking pass?
Meaford residents and property owners are eligible for a free parking pass for Memorial Park, including owners and tenants. Young adults from age 16-18 that reside in Meaford also qualify for a resident pass.
How do I get my resident parking pass sticker?

Resident parking passes are available at the Administration Office during regular business hours (Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) as well as the following evenings:

  • Wednesday, June 16 until 7:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday, June 23 until 7:00 p.m.

To recieve your pass, you will be asked to provide your driver's lilcence, proof of vehicle ownership, and proof of residency or property ownership.

Meaford Residents

If you are a full time Meaford resident, you can provide your vehicle ownership and driver's licence showing your Meaford Address. This will prove you reside in Meaford, and own the vehicle associated with the licence plate.

Meaford Property Owners

If you own property in Meaford but your primary residence is elsewhere, you can provide your driver's licence, vehicle ownership and your property tax bill. This will prove you own property in Meaford, and own the vehicle associated with the licence plate.

Caa I register multiple vehicles that I own for a parking pass?

Yes. There is no limit to the number of passes available per residence, as long as a drivers licence and proof of ownership is provided.

How will the Municipality ensure that people will not avoid paying for parking by parking elsewhere and blocking resident driveways?
Authorized signage has been added in areas of concern. Municipal Bylaw Enforcement will patrol these areas as well, and respond to any concerns to street parking issues that arise. Call 519-538-2121, and follow the prompts to reach the Manager of Enforcement, or email bylaw@meaford.ca.
I live out of town, and come to take a family member who lives in Meaford to local parks as they don't have a car or drive. Do I still have to pay?
In this scenario, you would need to purchase either a daily or seasonal pass since your licence and vehicle registration would not be associated with a Municipality of Meaford address. As this is a pilot year for this program, we anticipate there will be some unique circumstances impacted by the new process. You can notify us of your situation by email to paytopark@meaford.ca so we can include the data in our comprehensive report to Council at the end of the parking pilot.
Why didn't the Municipality direct mail passes to residents with their tax bill?
In order for this pilot program to give us the best data possible, we wanted to ensure the passes were issued fairly to verified Meaford residents and property owners, and were not able to be shared among different household or with visitors. This way we can track how many passes are issued, and have better data to provide to Council when they review the success of the program.

Reservations for shorter camping stays (less than 1 week) will be considered and allocated on Saturday at 12:00 pm (following regular Friday check in) for the subsequent week. These sites can NOT be reserved past the following Friday. Preference will be given to longer camping stays.
