You can drop off household hazardous waste eight days this year. See below for the 2022 dates.
On a hazardous waste date, please try to get to the depot early as there is usually a long wait with this program being run for most of Grey County, and they can reach capacity before closing time.
Commercial, farming, institutional and industrial material will not be accepted.
Information to have with you for accessing the Household Hazardous Waste Depot site
- Please bring photo identification to show the attendant. If your photo ID does not prove residency in Meaford, you can bring a tax receipt for proof of property ownership
- You are encouraged to print off and fill out a copy of the Hazardous Waste Report Form before arrival. The form can be found at http://www.owensound.ca/wastemanagement.
Safety protocols in place at the Household Hazardous Waste Depot
Preventative measures have been established for residents and staff to drop-off and receive hazardous waste items in a safe manner.
- All materials must be in containers and able to be identified
- Remain in your vehicle, staff will unload the items from your vehicle
- Face coverings for staff and residents is optional
- You are encouraged to wash your hands on a regular basis
- If you are not feeling well, please stay home
