Formerly the Meaford Council Chambers and Town offices, the renovated galleries feature 16 ft. ceilings, original refinished hardwood floors, and new exhibitions every two months.
The Galleries are a free space you can explore during most business hours (Monday – Saturday, 10 – 4). This is where audiences spend time before entering the theatre and it is where our main bar is located.
New exhibits are installed about every sixty days. All ages welcome: regular visits to the ever-changing Galleries are a great way to introduce little ones to art of all kinds.
The Galleries are available to rent and occasionally close for private events.
Artists are welcome to apply to exhibit in our galleries in 2026.
Please submit a completed Gallery Application to meafordhallbookings@meaford.ca

‘Capturing moments, memories and special places in Georgian Bay and Escarpment Country’.
I am a Collingwood-based landscape painter, working mostly in acrylics and mixed media. I paint from a place of gratitude and joy for life, celebrating the beauty of the world in which we live. My paintings reflect my love of nature, the beauty of ‘place’, and the awe and wonder of creation. It is my hope that they bring that same joy and wonder to each viewer.
With brush and canvas, I strive to capture the beauty, and feeling of peace - the gift of a walk in the wild. I love to paint my favourite places and unexpected beauty on Georgian Bay, along the Bruce trail or on one of the many beautiful local trails. The special places that evoke memories and bring joy with each visit. I love the architecture of winter trees and long January shadows, the light dappling through summer shade, the moody blue skies over Georgian Bay, and fall fireworks of colour. While my camera is usually an iPhone these days, the inspiration for my paintings comes from the joy of daily excursions in our local ‘backyard’.

Anne Luton
A passion for creativity has always motivated Anne. Anne paints under the nom de plume, Miami, and paints out of her studio in Collingwood, Ontario.
During her career in publishing Anne took many art workshops and classes in Toronto. After training in watercolour with Margaret Roseman in Toronto, Anne moved to the Blue Mountains and continued her training with Michelle Fleming at the Bay School of Art. Anne fell in love with the oil medium as seen in her use of colour, which is bold, delicate and passionate.
Anne is well known for her florals and the delicate transparencies she achieves in the oil medium. She is also known for her landscapes focusing on beautiful Georgian Bay and the Blue Mountains, and as well has sketched and painted in Costa Rica and Italy.
Painting brings Anne happiness and joy and she believes art is the most succinct expression of who she is. Her love of rich colour expresses her feelings on canvas and her style is passionate and bold just like her muse and inspiration, the Blue Mountains and Georgian Bay.
Her paintings have been shown in art shows and galleries and hang in homes throughout Canada and the United States. Anne’s paintings are available locally or through retail and her website, www.annelutonart.com
Artist statement Merryn Edgar
I let my eyes and my instincts do the thinking – this way the images emerge and evolve spontaneously with a life of their own.
I paint in bursts of energy, allowing my emotions to infuse my art. Escaping into the process is part of what I do. An important aspect of my work is knowing when to stop and step back from a painting.
There is a tension between the dynamic physical process of creation and the moment of completion and part of my art is capturing that tension without prolonging it.
Eclecticism, in life as well as in art, is highly appealing to me so I experiment constantly with different techniques and ideas. Colour is vital – I’m not afraid of colour. When I paint, I let my hands choose the colours and it’s almost a subconscious process.
I let the moment decide.
