Meaford, Ontario – Today, the Municipality of Meaford proudly joins communities worldwide in celebrating International Volunteer Day. This day is dedicated to honoring the spirit of volunteerism and recognizing the invaluable contributions of individuals who selflessly devote their time and skills to enrich our community.

In Meaford, volunteers are the heart and soul of countless initiatives, programs, and events that bring vibrancy and support to residents of all ages. Their contributions are evident across the community, from local events to support services, recreational activities, and more. Each volunteer's unique talents and dedication make Meaford a better place for all.

In 2024, we proudly recognize Mary Solomon, recipient of the Community Builder Award. Her extraordinary volunteer efforts have transformed Meaford through remarkable leadership in creating an accessible, inclusive community. Mary has been instrumental in key initiatives as a committee member for Christmas on the Bay, Meaford's 150th celebration, and Events for Life.

On this International Volunteer Day, we thank Mary Solomon and all the incredible volunteers for their contributions. Their time, energy, and dedication create a positive impact that resonates throughout Meaford, inspiring others to get involved and give back.

To all volunteers, thank you for making a difference in our community. We celebrate with you today and every day.
