Harbour 'D' Dock Replacement Project Begins Today

The Municipality of Meaford has initiated the replacement of 'D' dock in the harbour today and is estimated to be completed in 3 to 5 days. As one of the main docks, 'D' dock has served the community for over 35 years, featuring the original wood decking and steel tube float system. Unfortunately, due to its design, the dock cannot be retrofitted or replaced in sections.

The upcoming project will involve the complete replacement of 'D' dock, which will include new anchors, chains, and hardware to ensure the dock's stability, and it will be designed in the same style as the other recently replaced docks in the harbour.

The budget for this project is $389,000.00. Funding for this project will be provided through internal debt financing, covered by harbour revenues in 2024 and 2025.

We appreciate the community's understanding and support as we undertake this essential improvement to our harbour facilities.
