The Municipality of Meaford invites residents, businesses, developers, and community organizations to a public meeting for the proposed Community Benefits Agreement by-law.  

Date: Monday, June 16, 2025 
Time: 6:00 p.m. 
Location: Meaford Hall, Opera House  

Attendees will: 

  • Learn what the Community Benefits Agreement By-law is, why it matters, and how it could be used in Meaford where the Planning Act does not apply. 

  • Understand the goals of the by-law and how it is designed to ensure impacts of development projects are evaluated fairly. 

  • Review frequently asked questions and get clear answers to common concerns. 

  • Share input, ask questions, and learn about the next steps in the process. 

“This Public Meeting provides an opportunity for the Public to make comment and ask questions relating specifically to the draft Community Benefits By-lawStaff will record all comments and submission and will report back to Council at a future meeting of Committee of the Whole where Council at that time will consider their options and make a decision on how they wish to proceed, said Shawn Everitt, Chief Administrative Officer.

The feedback collected will play an important role in finalizing the by-law, ensuring that it supports balanced growth and meaningful benefits for the community.
