“100 Years from Now” at Meaford Hall – November 2, 2023

The Blue Mountain Foundation for the Arts presents Shipyard Kitchen Party's performance of 100 Years from Now. Two brothers and the women they love tell the tales of their triumphs and tragedies in the years surrounding World War I. Based on the inspiring life of Mae Belle Sampson, one of the first women to enlist in the Canadian Army Medical Corp., 100 Years From Now tells the story of Canada's coming of age in the Great War.

Uplifting, humorous and emotional, 100 Years from Now combines an original folk music score with dramatic storytelling and stunning archival imagery, taking audiences on a musical journey from Georgian Bay to Vimy Ridge and beyond. Shipyard Kitchen Party was the winner of the 2018 Blue Mountain Foundation for the Arts Robert Kemp Award, and we are proud continue to support their work by presenting this moving story of a pivotal time in Canada's history as part of their 2023 Fall Ontario tour.

The 100 Years from Now performance is part of the BMFA's storytelling Festival visit www.bmfa.on.ca. To purchase tickets for the show, click here.

Poster for "Sound of Remembrance"

“Sound of Remembrance featuring Jason McCoy” at Meaford Hall – November 11, 2023

This very special fundraising concert aims to gather veterans, their families, and supporters for an evening dedicated to music, memory, and camaraderie. Featuring The Singing Soldier, Graham Trude, and country music star Jason McCoy, this event will create an atmosphere of unity and reverence while paying tribute to the brave men and women who have served within our Canadian Forces.

As a 35-year veteran of the entertainment industry, two time CCMA Male Vocalist of the Year, and 2023 CCMA Hall of Fame inductee, Jason McCoy appears to be the king of reinvention. Growing up in the small town of Minesing Ontario, Jason admired the well-rounded artistry of classic entertainers Roger Miller and Johnny Cash, to Merle Haggard and Glen Campbell.

Proceeds for this show will be directed towards Canadian Forces Base Meaford Military Family Resource Centre (MFRC). To purchase tickets for the show, click here.

On this day we unite as a community to honour the courage and sacrifice of our veterans and armed forces both past and present. Let us remember their bravery, dedication, and profound impact of their service. Lest we forget.
