Project Details
The pedestrian bridge identified as BR-125 is approaching the end of its useful service life and must be
removed in order to maintain public safety. BR-125 has been determined to contain cultural heritage value within the local context. The Municipality of Meaford is evaluating various replacement or trail relocation options available to maintain access along the Georgian Trail, north of Edwin Street.
This assessment is being undertaken in accordance with the planning and design process for Schedule B projects, as outlined in the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (2023) document, which is approved under the Ontario Environmental Assessment Act.

Location: Georgian Trail, 12m north of Edwin Street (44°36'05. 5"N 80°35'13.6"W)
Public Information Centre Details
You are invited to attend a Public Information Centre to learn more about this project and to provide feedback. General information regarding replacement alternatives under consideration will be on display in an informal “Open House” setting. Members of the project team will be available to answer questions and discuss issues related to the project.
Date: Tuesday, February 17, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

How to Participate
Public, Indigenous Community, and stakeholder input and comment are invited, for incorporation into the planning and design of this project and will be received until March 22, 2026. Subject to the identification of a preferred plan to replace bridge BR-125, and the receipt of necessary approvals, the Municipality of Meaford intends to proceed with this project and complete all work prior to the end of the 2026 calendar year.
