Beginning mid to late August, the first phase of the Wastewater Collection System Infiltration Main Relining Program is set to commence. The Wastewater Collection System Infiltration Main Relining Program will enhance the efficiency and extend the life of our wastewater system by rehabilitating approximately 230 metres of existing wastewater main using non-intrusive, specialized equipment to perform underground work.

Formal notices have been provided to residents on impacted streets. While work is being completed, impacted sewers will be temporarily out of service for approximately 8 hours. During this time, affected residents are asked to minimize water usage by refraining from taking showers or baths, running dishwashers or laundry machines, and flushing toilets. These measures will reduce the possibility of sewage flows backing up into your home or business.

This project will reduce the cost of the expansion and annual operating costs of the expanded facility by reducing the need for treatment.

This project was fully funded in 2022 but will be completed as part of the 2023 capital projects. To learn more about capital projects within the Municipality of Meaford, please visit www.meaford.ca/CapitalProjects.
