Wonder where your tax dollars go? Here is a breakdown of how your taxes get divided up to County, Education, and Municipal Services. For every dollar you pay in property taxes, about $0.60 is kept by the Municipality of Meaford.

Budget Highlights

Council has directed staff to produce a 2020 draft budget that includes:

  • An overall tax increase not to exceed 4.56%
  • An operating budget increase not to exceed 2.06%
  • A 1% increase for road capital projects
  • A 1% increase for bridge capital projects
  • A 0.5% increase for facility capital projects
  • Allocating the 2016-2019 operating surplus funds remaining to the New Library capital project
