Council appoints members to advisory committees and boards at the beginning of their term, and when there is a vacancy. The Appointment Policy outlines the process followed for appointments.

Council members are also appointed to various groups at the recommendation of the Mayor. This process is governed by the Procedural By-law.

Most committee and board positions are voluntary, with no remuneration.

General Requirements

  • All applicants must live, work or own a property or business in the Municipality of Meaford.
  • Applicants for the BIA Board must be owners or tenants of commercial property within the BIA.
  • Applicants must not be employed by the Municipality of Meaford.

  1.  Inter-Township Fire Department Service Board (Apply by September 20, 2023 at 4:00 p.m.)The Inter-Township Fire Department Service Board provides oversight and management of the Inter Township Fire Department that provides fire suppression services to the geographic Township of Sydenham and Georgian Bluffs. The Board is comprised of Councillors and members of the public from Meaford and Georgian Bluffs.
