Playground Surface Replacement
This project was completed in November 2023 as part of the Municipality of Meaford’s 2023 Capital Projects.
This project will replace the existing pea gravel playground surface at select municipal parks with engineered wood fiber.

This project will replace the existing pea gravel playground surface at Peter Cameron Park, Bognor Community Park, and McCarroll Park with engineered wood fiber. The Municipality conducts playground inspections annually. Inspections are conducted by a Registered Playground Practitioner, and review the equipment itself, and the surroundings. In 2022, the third party inspectors identified pea gravel is no longer recognized as a safe grounding material for playgrounds, and recommended that the Municipality replace existing pea gravel surfaces with engineered wood fiber.
