Free Lead Testing for Municipal Water

The Municipality of Meaford is seeking residents connected to the Municipal drinking water system to participate in regulated Lead Sampling anytime from now until April 13, 2017.

In 2007, the Ministry of the Environment made changes to the regulation regarding sampling and testing of Lead in Private and Commercial buildings.  The Municipality is required to complete this sampling as part of these Regulations.

Preferred locations are those owning a property built before 1952 that could have lead plumbing, or buildings built before 1990 that have brass fittings that could contain lead, or lead solder. The testing will require access to your kitchen sink and will take up to 45 minutes to complete. Testing is free and results will be shared with you.

Please contact ehoward@meaford.ca if you would like to participate.
