Annual Sewer Flushing and CCTV Inspections

October 4, 2017 - The Municipality of Meaford's 2017 annual flushing and CCTV inspections of sanitary sewers has started today. More information on this project is available at www.meaford.ca/currentcapitalprojects.

The Municipality of Meaford, in coordination with Onsite Sewer Services of Hampton On., will be conducting flushing and video inspections of sanitary sewers.

Flushing and video inspections will be completed between 07:00 and 18:00. During this time period affected residents may notice gurgling noises or water bubbling in toilets. This is more likely to happen in older homes with poor venting of the plumbing or homes with toilets on the basement level.  It is suggested that the toilet seat of all toilets be left closed during the flushing process.

A Vactor truck (noisy during flushing and debris removal) will be used for flushing and cleaning purposes and a van for the CCTV inspections. The duration at each man hole may vary but should normally be less than 15 minutes.

Onsite Sewer Services are completing both Flushing and CCTV inspections today on the following streets:

  • Sykes St. between Susan St. and Helen St.

  • Cook St. between Trowbridge St. and Nelson St.
