Help the Meaford Fire Department Keep Hydrants Clear

Meaford, Ontario – January 10, 2018 – The Meaford and District Fire department is asking you to join them in helping keep fire hydrants clear of snow. On Thursday, January 11th from 7-10pm, Meaford firefighters will be out in the community clearing ice and snow from fire hydrants.

In an emergency, every second matters. Blocked, concealed, or difficult-to-access fire hydrants can impede emergency fire response. Hydrants covered in snow can be difficult to locate, and uncovering them can waste valuable time needed during a fire fight.

You can help reduce the risk by joining Meaford Firefighters in keeping fire hydrants nearby your property accessible and clear of ice and snow.
