Notice of Annual Granular Road Resurfacing

The Municipality of Meaford would like to inform residents that annual granular road resurfacing will begin Monday, June 1, 2026. Municipal crews will be working on various roads throughout the municipality. A layer of new gravel will be applied to the road surface, and graders will then spread and mix it with the existing surface, reshaping and compacting the road. While the gravel will be compacted, some areas may remain soft for up to two weeks following application.

Drivers are reminded to use caution around maintenance crews and equipment. Expect increased dust levels during this work and reduce your speed when travelling these road sections. Roads under maintenance will be signed, and local traffic is asked to avoid areas where possible to support the safety of workers and the timely completion of the work.

Overview

The following services may be temporarily impacted:

  • Temporary road disruptions and loose gravel on active work site

  • Increased dust during periods of warm and dry weather

  • Increased municipal equipment and contractor activity

Start date: Monday, June 1, 2026
Approximate end date: June 22, 2026
Reason for disruption: Annual granular road resurfacing

Alternative Services

Motorists are advised to use caution, follow posted signage, and be mindful of workers and equipment when travelling through resurfacing zones.
