Notice of Construction at McCarroll Park Splash Pad

The Municipality of Meaford will be upgrading McCarroll Park with a new splash pad and improvements to the playground area. The existing playground will be moved to make space for the splash pad, and new features will be added for community enjoyment.

Construction is expected to take place from March to June 2026. During this time, part of the park will be temporarily closed. The Municipality thanks residents for their patience while these improvements are completed.

Location: McCarroll Park, located at 124 Bayfield St, Meaford, ON N4L 1N5
Contractor: Openspace Solutions
Anticipated Start Date:March 27, 2026
Estimated Completion: Mid-to-late June 2026
Scope:

  • Moving the existing playground to the west side of the park to create space for the new splash pad
  • Installing the necessary water, drainage, and utility connections
  • Designing and building a new splash pad with fun, interactive water features for all ages
  • Reinstalling the current playground equipment with new engineered wood fibre surfacing
  • Restoring and landscaping the park area once construction is complete

How will the project impact you?

Park Access: The southeast corner of the park will be fenced off for the duration of the project.

Noise: Residents and property owners should expect some noise during construction times.

Dust: Residents and property owners should expect dusty conditions during some construction activities however, efforts will be made to reduce dust as much as possible.

Vibration: The possibility of vibrations due to compaction equipment during construction is not anticipated to be significant.

Property: The Municipality will not be responsible for owner-installed items within the road allowance, such as sprinklers, landscaping, lamp posts, etc. If you have any of these items, we recommend that they be removed prior to the project if possible.
