Residents, businesses, visitors, and harbour users may notice increased truck traffic near Meaford Harbour as material removed during the dredging project is transported out of the harbour area.
Overview
The following area may be temporarily impacted: truck traffic routes in and around Meaford Harbour. Trucks will be used to move sediment and debris from the harbour area as part of the dredging project.
Start date: September 28, 2026
Approximate end date: October 1, 2026
Reason for disruption: Material removed from the harbour must be transported from the site as part of the dredging project. This work follows environmental and project requirements, including testing and management of sediment before it is moved, reused, or disposed of.
Traffic route: Please see the attached traffic map for the planned truck route. The map is provided for awareness so residents, businesses, visitors, and harbour users can plan ahead and use caution in the area.
Alternative services: Most harbour services and areas are expected to remain open, but parking, vehicle routes, pedestrian routes, and access around the work area may continue to be adjusted while material is being moved. Please follow posted signage, watch for trucks, and use caution near the harbour.
