Notice of Watermain Repair on Aiken Street

The Municipality of Meaford would like to inform residents of an emergency watermain repair taking place today on Aiken Street in front of 250 Aiken Street. Municipal crews will be on-site conducting repairs, and residents in the immediate area may experience temporary impacts to traffic and pedestrian access. Depending on the severity of the break and the parts required, there is a possibility that the watermain may need to be shut down during the repair.

Overview

The following services may be temporarily impacted:

  • Regular water service for residents near 250 Aiken Street

  • Traffic flow on Aiken Street will be reduced to one lane to accommodate equipment

  • The sidewalk will be closed between Graham Street and Lakeside

Start date: Wednesday, February 11, 2026

Reason for disruption: Emergency watermain repair

Alternative Services

Motorists and pedestrians are advised to use caution when travelling through the affected section of Aiken Street and to follow all posted signage or instructions provided by municipal staff on-site. Crews are working as quickly as possible to complete the repair and restore full service.
