Official List of Certified Candidates & Notice of Additional Nominations

MEAFORD, ON – The official list of certified candidates for the 2026 Municipal & School Board Election in the Municipality of Meaford is now available on www.meafordvotes.ca and is posted at the Municipal Office, 21 Trowbridge Street West, Meaford. An election has been declared for the offices of Mayor, Councillor and School Board Trustee – English Public.

One nomination was received for the office of Deputy Mayor, however the Clerk rejected this nomination because it did not comply with the requirements of the Municipal Elections Act, 1996.

As per the Municipal Elections Act, 1996, the Clerk/Returning Officer for the Municipality of Meaford is providing notice that additional nominations for the office of Deputy Mayor will be accepted on Wednesday, August 24, 2026 between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. The certification of additional candidate nominations will be completed by 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 26, 2026.

Nominations may be filed in person at the Municipal Office, located at 21 Trowbridge Street West, Meaford.
