The Municipality of Meaford and the Meaford Fire Department invite the public to attend a 9/11 Memorial Ceremony on Friday, September 11, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at the Meaford Fire Hall.
“This ceremony is an opportunity for our community to come together in remembrance and reflection,” said Rob Pilon, Meaford Fire Chief. “The events of September 11 had a lasting impact on first responders around the world, and this anniversary gives us a meaningful way to honour those who were lost and recognize the service and sacrifice of emergency responders.”
The ceremony will mark the 25th anniversary of 9/11 and provide a respectful opportunity to honour those who lost their lives and recognize the impact on first responders and communities around the world.
The ceremony will include remarks, a moment of silence, a prayer, and an opportunity for reflection.
The Fire Hall museum will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. for anyone who would like to pay their respects.
Residents, visitors, first responders, partner agencies, and community members are welcome to attend.
