Goods Exchange Day

Goods Exchange day is a curbside swap program where residents can put unwanted but usable items at the curb or road side for anyone to pick up (ie. Usable furniture, books, tools, sporting goods, toys, etc.)

In order to identify items that are part of Goods Exchange Day, use a sign that says “FREE”, or tie a white plastic bag to one of the items as an indicator. Ensure if you are also placing items out for a bulky item collection that it is easily determined which items are for what collection.

Any leftover items are your responsibility and must be removed from the curb no later than 7pm.

The Municipality of Meaford will not assume any liability for items lost or removed during Goods Exchange/Curbside Swap Day. Please do not pick up anything unless you are sure that it is a Goods Exchange Day item.

Remember to drive carefully, watch for pedestrians and obey all traffic laws.

Next Goods Exchange Day: May 20, 2017

We have recently had some instance of garbage bag tags being ripped in half, and both halves being placed on two separate garbage bags. Garbage will only be collected if a complete bag tag is present on all waste bags, and by-law enforcement will be contacted if necessary.
