Household Hazardous Waste

Facility Information

Residents can drop off household hazardous waste on the designated days below. All materials must be in containers/able to be identified. Please bring photo identification to show the attendant. 

Commercial, farming, institutional and industrial material will not be accepted.

Location: 1900 - 20th Street East, Owen Sound

Hours of Operation: 9:00am to 2:00pm

  • Materials containing PCB’s
  • Infectious wastes including syringes
  • Smoke detectors
  • Explosives
  • Ammunition or flares
  • Unidentified products
  • Empty cans or bottles (empty aerosol cans or paint cans can go into your recycling)
  • Cardboard boxes

    We have recently had some instance of garbage bag tags being ripped in half, and both halves being placed on two separate garbage bags. Garbage will only be collected if a complete bag tag is present on all waste bags, and by-law enforcement will be contacted if necessary.
