St. Vincent Street Reconstruction


Introduction

This project will include the reconstruction of St. Vincent Street from the Meaford Harbour to Marshall Street East. Engineering and design is to be completed in 2026, with construction scheduled for 2027. The replacement of watermain and sanitary sewer is required to deal with failing, end of life and undersized infrastructure. Additional water and sanitary sewer work in the Harbour will be reviewed as part of the design process to determine the feasibility of an additional bulk water station and sewer dumping station.

Project Description

This project includes:

  • Replacement of watermains from 1936 and 1905
  • Replacement of sanitary sewers that have failed or at a high risk of failure
  • Replacement of stormwater infrastructure and drainage improvements
  • Feasibility of bulk water station and sewer dumping station for the Harbour
  • Possible addition of sidewalks to both sides of the roadway
  • Reconstruction of the paved roadway
