St. Vincent Street Reconstruction
Introduction
This project will include the reconstruction of St. Vincent Street from the Meaford Harbour to Marshall Street East. Engineering and design is to be completed in 2026, with construction scheduled for 2027. The replacement of watermain and sanitary sewer is required to deal with failing, end of life and undersized infrastructure. Additional water and sanitary sewer work in the Harbour will be reviewed as part of the design process to determine the feasibility of an additional bulk water station and sewer dumping station.
Project Description
This project includes:
- Replacement of watermains from 1936 and 1905
- Replacement of sanitary sewers that have failed or at a high risk of failure
- Replacement of stormwater infrastructure and drainage improvements
- Feasibility of bulk water station and sewer dumping station for the Harbour
- Possible addition of sidewalks to both sides of the roadway
- Reconstruction of the paved roadway

Community Information Session and Online Survey
The Municipality of Meaford hosted a Community Information Session on October 27, 2026, to share information about the planned reconstruction of St. Vincent Street from Marshall Street East to Meaford Harbour, including early design information and expected construction impacts.
As part of this engagement, the Municipality is also seeking public feedback on parking options for St. Vincent Street between Bridge Street and Marshall Street East. Residents and interested community members are encouraged to review the presentation materials and parking option visuals, then complete the online survey to share their feedback.
Parking Options Being Reviewed
The Municipality is reviewing two parking options for St. Vincent Street between Bridge Street and Marshall Street East. Each option is shown in the visuals below to help residents compare the proposed changes before completing the survey.
- Option 1: On-street parking on the east side of the road only.
- Option 2: No on-street parking on either side of the street.
Share your feedback
The online survey is now open and will remain available until Friday, November 27, 2026. Survey results will not determine the final recommendation on their own, but will be considered alongside all available information and public comments.
