Meaford Secures Funding for Local Business Growth Project

The Municipality of Meaford is pleased to share that it has received funding through the Ontario Ministry of Rural Affairs to support a Business Retention and Expansion Project focused on strengthening the local business community and supporting long-term economic growth.

The Business Retention and Expansion (BR+E) Project will directly engage with Meaford’s business community to better understand barriers to growth, opportunities for expansion, and the supports needed to help retainand strengthen existing businesses. The findings will help the Municipality make informed decisions, prioritize resources, and implement targeted economic development actions that support local jobs, business investment, and a resilient rural economy.

The project will take place this year, with the Municipality working alongside consultant Town Hall to undertake this work. Over the coming months, the community can expect opportunities to provide input and participate in engagement activities that will help inform the project.
